The Royal United Hospital at Combe Park is about 4 miles by road from our Saltford home. Its £12m modular Urgent Treatment Centre was due to start on site on 28 September 2026 and is scheduled to open in late December. The Locksbrook Road and Brassmill Lane employment area, where Rotork and Horstman operate, is also about 4 miles. Bath Spa University's Newton Park campus is about 3, and Sulis Hospital at Peasedown St John about 9.

One Waterside and the old gasworks

One Waterside, Berkeley Homes' 662 homes on the former Bath gasworks, is about 5 miles by road. Groundworks were fully under way in February 2026 and the river-front homes had been started. On the council-owned part of the same gasworks, enabling works were well under way in June 2026, and no start on its homes has been confirmed.

Central Bath and Claverton Down

Bath city centre and the Recreation Ground are each about 6 miles by road. Bath Rugby's 18,000-capacity stadium at the Rec isn't on site yet: construction is due to begin in summer 2027. Bath Quays North has planning permission for plots 6 and 7 and no confirmed start date.

The University of Bath at Claverton Down is about 7 miles. The planning committee resolved in April 2026 to approve eight accommodation blocks on the campus, and a start on site hasn't been confirmed.

Keynsham and Bristol Airport

Keynsham Civic Centre is about 2 miles by road, and the town's industrial estates are at Broadmead Lane, Ashmead Road and Pixash Lane. Bristol Airport, where Farrans is building a £30m terminal extension with around 150 on site at peak, is about 14 miles.

Charlotte Street car park, about 5 miles by road from Saltford, has no height restriction and is the council's recommended car park for vans. It's long stay and open 24 hours. Newbridge Park & Ride, about 3 miles, has a 2 metre height barrier.
